Location, Location, Location! Nestled on a peaceful acre of land with DIRECT ACCESS to the stunning West Fork of the Kickapoo River—a Class I trout stream renowned for its pristine waters—as well as 35 acres of huntable, public DNR land literally in the back yard, this rustic, hand-built cabin is your dream hunting and fishing getaway.
With two bedrooms and a loft, the Kickapoo Lodge comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests. The main floor master bedroom features a cozy private bedroom with a comfortable queen-sized bed. The second private bedroom is located upstairs and has room for four, with a queen bed and set of bunk beds. The loft area provides additional sleeping space with two twin beds, perfect for those who enjoy a more open, cabin-style feel. For extra flexibility, the queen sofa sleeper in the living room offers additional accommodations. There is a full bath on the main level, and a half bath is conveniently located upstairs. PLEASE NOTE: Fireplace is currently non-functioning. We are working to restore it for future stays.
Outside, enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the front porch, a glass of wine on the back deck, or roast marshmallows at the outdoor firepit!
This is a true rustic retreat—hand-built with reclaimed wood, custom railings, and all the character you'd expect from a one-of-a-kind cabin. Its charm lies in its imperfections, from uneven floors to handcrafted details that make this space unique. While this adds to the experience, families with young children should note that some areas may require extra supervision, and may not be appropriate for very young children. If you love rustic stays with a touch of adventure, this is the perfect getaway for you!

I brought my boys for a few days of fly fishing, bbq, fire pit and relaxing. This place was amazing.
Rustic meets luxury. Beautiful sounds of nature on the back deck (and magical fireflies at night!). Pet friendly. Perfect space for spending quality time. Great fly-fishing. Appreciated the well equipped kitchen. Hosts are thoughtful and gracious!
During my wife's birthday week (and our wedding anniversary) we stayed along with our adult daughter. We LOVED the cabin, the grounds, and fly fishing the Kickapoo was sensational. Can't thank Danielle and Neil enough - we'll DEFINITELY be back
Very relaxing stay, plenty of room for 3 adults and two young teenagers. Short walk through the weeds/marsh to the West Fork of the Kickapoo for a evening of good flyfishing. Quick trip into Viroqua for the Saturday morning farmers market. Everything we wanted in a three day get-away. Will definitely come back again. On a side note: there was no bath soap in the shower, so bring your own and sometimes the coffee maker and microwave outlet needed to be reset - but no other worries and the kitchen was very well equipped.
Our stay at the cabin was absolutely amazing---truly a 10 out of 10 experience! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The cabin was cozy, clean, and incredibly relaxing, nestled in such a peaceful setting that it felt like the perfect escape from everyday life. Whether we were enjoying coffee on the porch or winding down enjoying the movie, every moment was pure bliss. The host was thoughtful and made sure we had everything we needed. We can't wait to come back!
